Artist Statement
Swarm is an interactive installation showing the motion of a swarm of agents over a 2D or 3D lattice.
The project is focussed on the connections dynamically created by the agents with their neighbours in a game of attraction, separation, alignment, obstacle avoidance and sound production. The local interaction create a global swarm behaviour without any high level leader or programming. The network characteristics evolve in relation to specific necessities like the energy (fast motion of the visitor = fear for the agents) and obstacles inserted by the visitors who interact with the body and gestures disarticulating or promoting connective configurations.
